Upgrade Advisor crashes

Hi there

I'm an wanting to upgrade from win98 to XPpro and have run the MS Windows
Upgrade Advisor several times and everytime it crashes on DVD Player. I
have uninstalled my dvd player but it still does it.

Can someone advise me as to what I should do? If I upgrade does this mean
my DVD player isn't going to work?
I'm using a Pioneer DVD drive.

should i bother upgrading?
