Updating Template in Dreamweaver MX problem 1

Hi,
I am trying to update areas in a template I created for a site. Fopr some reason, the template page will not allow me to change text within the locked areas.

I am working in the index.dwt file.

Can anyone explain why this is acting this way?

Hi Kirderf,

If you created this template from another template, those areas in the original template might be locked and uneditable in this one. It does this because of the way nested templates work.

That makes sense. I disabled the template and recreated it with the same name. (I had to reenter the editable tables with the same names) Then it let me update the pages attached. Hmmm, why couldn't I have seen that? Thanks JillC!
