I am trying to get the latest and greatest citrix client software on my users machines. I have downloaded the ica32.exe from the citrix sight and installed it locally to my machine. . . . works great.

Now I want to deploy it from my two citrix servers. I need to know what executable and switch to use so I can make the install disks from the software that I downloaded (the ica32.exe) and have my clients update automatically.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any responses. . .

Extract the disk images using WinZip to open the ica32.exe.

This is also the way to access the update.ini file that you would use if you were to implement auto-updating of this client from your servers.

Details of how to do this are in your administrator's manual, but can be summarised:

1. Open ICA Client Update Configuration, and choose Client, Add.

2. Browse for the update.ini you have extracted, and continue from here, making selections as appropriate for your installation.

I do this and i recieve no errors, but for some reason the client never updates. any ideas? Like i said there are no errors loading the update into the server.

I'm willing to bet you don't have the file enabled. By the way remove all other ICA client in the database that you are not using. Then double click the ICA client you want to push out. Make sure the box "Enable" is checked. Then from the ICA CUC go to Database - Properties and verify that the box "Enable" is checked, that is two different places to make sure all enabled. After that watch your users update.

I also recommend that you "Ask User", "Update Any Client", "Log and Log", "force disconnect" DO NOT ALLOW BACKGROUND download, let your users know it is happening so they don't quit before the thing finishes corrupting the hold thing.

One last thing, this isn't guaranteed to work. I've heard from pretty high ups in the Citrix world that this features is shotty at best, however, I haven't had any (major) issues with it.
