Updating KDE on SuSe Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP2

Compiling KDE4 from source is quite challenging; it is in fact one of the tests that you may face in advanced linux courses.
Anyway I would like to ask you why would you want a fully fledged desktop environment on SuSe Enterprise Server?
If you are looking for a good desktop distro you can get much better, more updated and better looking distro for free.

Have you checked the SuSE repositories for any updated RPM's, that would make the install easy as pie...

QatQat, it's for debugging purpose. There were multiplle exist respositories added in the installation sources, but I continued to have dependency issue and didn't seem to allow me to do the upgrade. I was hoping that I could upgrade to the latest KDE3 instead. KDE4 is actually my last attempt if all things failed.
