Here is the story.

I built a database for a company on my laptop. I gave them a copy of the database fro their use and they have inputted data into it. After working with the database for a while they have run into things that they would like added/changed. I don't have the time to sit in their office and make the changes nor do they have that time either.

I am looking for a way that I can make those additions on my system and implement them in their system so that I do not affect their data.

Is using synchronization the best bet and just put my system on the their network and synchronize or is there another way?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

First approach is:
Take a copy of the database as is and keep it in a safe place, so you have a baseline to refer to.
Make the changes to the forms, reports, modules etc. in your database and test it.
When you know it works, kick everyone out of the production database and copy the amended objects from your new database to the production.

Second approach (preferred):
Create a second database with just data in it.
Use linked tables to connect the front end database - which has the forms, reports, modules etc in to the data.
From then on, you can update the front end without affecting the data by simply copying over a new version of the front end.
