i have a query that gets it's information from three different tables. I want to update and change one of the filters on this query with the push of a button. I know that there is an update command but am not sure how to make it work. suggestions are always welcome.
Walt III
SAElukewl@netscape.net
<a href=

I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you mean that you want to change the criteria for the query?

When you say "at the push of a button", do you mean that the query is the basis for a form?

I hope I can help, but I will need a bit more info.

Thanks,
Kathryn

I have a form that data is entered into. From that form I want the user to be able to print a report but not all of the data is contained in the form some of the data comes from two other tables. this data does not need to be seen until the printout. I was using a query to bring all of the information together however the form has a filter and I only want to print the information contained in the form with the filter on so. Yes I do mean the criteria of the query. I want to set it to the same thing as the filter I have that piece of information I just don't want to recreate the query everytime the button to print is pushed I just want to requery it.

Walt III
SAElukewl@netscape.net
<a href=

OK, now I am with you. You want to "refine" your query. How about applying the filter to the report in the Open event of the report? Would that do what you need?

Kathryn

Your report can be based on a query so, yes you can have a report based on multiple tables.

I am late for a meeting, so I can't work on the code right now. Look at the filter property and the filteron property and applyfilter (all in the help files).

I am tracking this thread, so post if you still need help. I will probably not get back to you until tomorrow.

Kathryn
