Hello All,
I have updated the 6.5 server with nw65sp1 and arcserve patches. Restarted now I get c0001002 and c0001005 error.
Version says server license:sn###### with real numbers. User license says <hardstop>. I reinstalled license and rebooted. SP1 did resolve a apache web server issue. Down loaded nw65sp2 and when I tried to open file it gave me a damaged ARJ-Secured archive error. Tried this sp2 download three times. Downloaded tcp.nlm with no issue. Any idea whats going here I get 4 connections and 4 grace logins and have 100 licenses installed. Dazed and confused!! :-]

Sometimes you have to remove the licenses and reinstall them when that happens. Other times, you have to remove the license and install it in a container higher up in your tree for it to work right. After you make any changes, unload polimgr, then unload nlslsp. Then reload polimgr to make the changes take effect.

I did do the process you have mentioned. You don't think service pak had anything do with this? I was counting on serve pak2 to correct this. I will redo the license install again.

You are a great help to this site and appreciate your responses just to let you know. Thanks!

I have users in other containers connecting to server if they get on before the 4 licenses are taken. Do you still think up the licenses one level to organization root might help?

Should the server license also be reinstalled? I did do the users license but will reinstall again.

I would move the server and user license containers up one level.. It really depends on your tree. But in general, when a user logs in, it looks in the current container first, then the next container up and so on until it finds a valid license or hits [root]. There is nothing wrong with having your licenses high up in the tree. In fact, I prefer doing it this way unless I have a specific business need to NOT do it like this.

I've seen quite a few cases where, for some odd reason, the licenses would not assign properly to users when in the same level as the server. Moving the licenses up to the level above it fixed it.

Also, On NW6.5, you can go into Remote Manager --> health monitor --> Licensing System Report, and see a pretty detailed license report. It will tell you exactly what the status of the licensing is, how many grace logins, etc.

You can also do a trace to find specific errors from the license providers perspective.. this can be valuable in the troubleshooting process. You can set the trace in Remote Manager --> Health Monitor --> Licensing Information --> Licensing System Options.. Turn them on and then watch the screen or log files and look for specific errors and troubleshoot from there.

I did do has you had said and this resolved the issue. Thanks very much. Also I did move the user license up the tree. I did not move the server license. Do you think this will impact anything? Things are running well again.
