When typing in word or outlook this character "ì" shows up at the end of sentences, and on the right side of the cursor in word. Anyone have any idea what it is, why it's showing up and how to get rid of it?
thanks

what you mean the smart tags? No, not that. This is a single character that looks like an i, just like in my original post, but it shows up at the end of sentences and while in word it always on the right side of the cursor and you can't select it.
That's what I thought first, but those lines are nothing like an 'i' and they show up at the page border, not at the end of the sentence.
Unless Kenchr explained it wrong?
OMG! I just realized that kenchr said "end of sentences". PLEASE tell me it wasn't as easy as the paragraph mark! I teach Word & Excel at work and I would REALLY hate to tell them that I missed THAT! lol
No it's not the paragraph mark, let me try to post a screen shot of it here. Look at the very end of this image you will see a funny "i" after the question marks.
I don't use Outlook, so I can't vouch for the implications that Word has for it, but have you tried deleting your normal.dot file in your efforts to get rid of this strange character (which to me, looks like an "i" with a "grave" accent applied...)???
Yes I guess it is an "i" with a "grave" accent, but why it is there is what is bothering me. The good news is however, after deleting every normal.dot I could find it seems to have gone away. Wish I knew what made it appear in the first place.
