Unused DID for Remote Access on a Magix 1

Last July, ttech commented on how to remotely access the Magix switches through an unused DID. Having many remotes to maintain, I decided to take his advice. Problem is, after getting to the "Remote Access" page in winSPM, I don't see anything marked "Barrier Code". Also the Remote Access number listed is 3 digits whereas my DIDs are 4 digits and winSPM will not allow the 4th digit. Where did I go wrong?

1-Barrier codes are under lines trunks.
2-When renumbering the RAS port, you have to "enter" the old number first, then the 4 digit is possible. (When 889 shoes up as the old number press enter then add the new number). TipHelp@charter.net

Thanks Pepperz for responding. I'm new to this so please bare with me. I went Lines and Trunks>RemoteAccss>BarrierCode>Code Info>Code Entry. At this point it asks for a Barrier Code number (1-16). If there is a number already selected, where do I find it at? The Access Code of 889 will not work because it's not 1-16. I printed out the Remote Access Info(DISA) and a code is required on both non-TIE and TIE. System Wide Barrier Code lenght is 07. I'm at a standstill.

You can have up to 16 different barrier codes, (all of the same length), and give them out to different induviduals to use for remote access. That way you can control each user's remote access to the system, or yank a code without affecting the others. Anyway, you must pick one of the 16 codes to be the one that allows access to the remote programming modem. I usually use code no. 16. Default length is 7 digits. So when you get to code entry, pick code no. 16, and enter a 7 digit number. Then use code 16 for remote access to system programming. Then go to renumber, single, remote access, enter 889 and ENTER for the old code, then enter your new 4-digit DID number and ENTER to accept the new code. Make sure the DID is not in use anywhere else, or it won't accept it.


Now when you call that DID number, it should answer after a couple of rings, give you a stutter dial tone, you enter the 7 digit barrier code, get another dial tone, then dial *10 and it will ring through to the modem.

Thanks Touch Tone Tommy!! I'll try this today. The only difference I see is that I don't have any old Barrier Codes to enter after the 889. None were ever programmed. This should flow pretty smoothly.
