Unsupported Compression in File?????? help please

I just got this program and i have basic knowlage of the program but for some reason, i went to Import a AVI file. it was an movie clip from my Digital camera. and i browsed and forund the clip and Imported it but in the process, a mesage came up that said unsupported compression in file. it has the windows media icon and a .THM with the same file name but an unknown Program Icon. i dont know if that means anything or not. baicly i want to know if theres any kind of Codec i need so Adobe can Support the compression or if i need to render it or somthing. im so lost with this one. any help would be greatly apprecated,
