Unsuccessful export to pdf file. Help!

Good morning,
When you say that distiller doesn't follow though do you mean that the export starts to work then nothing happens?
If this is the case and you haven't exported before or if you had to reinstall distiller then this could be the problem: distiller is not associated with the program.
Also make sure you are using Adobe's printer driver to make the PDF. If you are using a printer driver from a postscript driver from say an HP printer this could give you this problem also.
Also check your linked files using the file/links manager, if any of the linked items have a symbol then this could be the cause.

A ps-file is a postcript file.
In your print-menu do the normal things like the pages you wan't to print and so on then go to the options tab and there you will find "write postcript to file".
Set the rest of the printer settings like you would do if you we're printing the file.
See that the print button in your print menu has changed to "Save".
Save the file open your distiller and drop the ps-file onto it.
Another problem could be in the settings of your distiller. I always change in the job-options the downloading of the fonts times and helvetica. I tell distiller not to embed the fonts times and helvetica.

PostScript Errror or PostScript flushed, then the original
PM file contains doubtful elements. Mainly these are
graphic files. One rare exception is this: don´t use blue
text RGB=0,0,255 (believe it or not).
A test with a simple file (some text, some color boxes) will
immediately show, whether the workflow is OK in principle.
The erroneous file can be tested then page by page, or by
sequential division in half of the pages, if there are many,
until the offending page is found.
Fonts should be always embedded.
The basic fonts Helvetica,Times, Courier are nevertheless
not embedded, because the Reader is expected to have these
(I read this, but didn´t test, I embed always all fonts).
