Half year ago we had switched from Novell to Windows NT because of speed. Clients are Win95 and -98. With TCP/IP as protocol the program was the slower, the more users were logged in. Using NetBEUI we would reach unexpected high speed rate, but there were also raising problems when writing back datas. After activating IPX/SPX-Protocol we just have "Unrecoverable Error 24" calling Commit. I've found that it is necessary to deactivate the OpLocks under Windows NT to ensure integrity of dBase-databasses.
Are there any tips what else can be done? Is it possible to install TCP/IP without slowing down the program?
