Unneccessary Blank Space at the End of Reports

I have a report that I created and it is leaving 4 or 5 inches of blank space at the bottom of the report. I have text boxes set up to remove the blank line if the field is empty. This works fine throughout the report, but for some reason it leaves a lot of space at the bottom of each page of the report. Any suggestions?

It's unclear how you can define blank space at the bottom of the report versus the rest of the page is blank. Are you printing this on continous form paper? Does the printer have a "page" size?

It has nothing to do with the printer or its options. The report has 12 fields that go downward in a column. If any of those fields are blank it removes that line from the column and shifts upward. When it comes to the last record that will fit on the page it appears as if it does not take the "remove line if blank" into account and just thinks it will not fit on the page and places it on the next page leaving large amounts of empty spaces at the bottom where 2 or 3 more records could have fit.

OK, now I understand (I hope). I believe this is because the report form doesn't "look ahead", so for each new record, it assumes it may need the space for whole twelve lines (i.e. the entire detail area length), if it doesn't, the page will overflow. The fact that many of the lines for this next record would have fit, doesn't really matter - it can't know that in advance.

Using the "remove if blank" can sometimes be tricky. You cannot have anything "on the same line" or even close to the textbox, otherwise the "remove if blank" will be ignored. Mike Gagnon

Well, Thanks for your help! I thought maybe VFP was smart enough to look ahead.
