I'm totally new to Openview, but have a few questions

First is there any online sites where I can read up on how to use Openview?

Second there anyway to have openview default hardware to unmanage when it discovers items?

Please any help is appreicated

You can get all the documentation you need for all of the openview products at the following site
To answer your second question. yes you can set NNM to discover devices as unmanaged by default. You need to modify the oid_to_type file and add a "U" to the end of teh line that specifies the OID of the device that you want to set as unmanaged.
Take a look at the manpage for oid_to_type
