I am running windows se.In my device manager,Ihave under"other devices" pci multimedia audio device witht hat yellow question mark next to it.If I delete or remove it,it will attempt to intall hew hardware when I reboot.
I do not know what device it is referring to,but when I attempt it to find it on it's own,it locks up.
I do not have any multimedia devices running that are not in device manager,so I really am unsure what is going on here.It really causes no big problem, but it does make me wonder what it is seeing .I am using a soundblaster sound card....maybe that will help you out in your assessment...
thx..Danny

Have you installed the correct Creative Labs Soundblaster software? Maybe you're not using the latest drivers - check it out at their website.

Assuming you have previously run the Creative CD installation, I'd uninstall it, delete the "unknown" multimedia device, and then immediately re-run the Creative CD again.

Probably best to delete both as Roger says, let it find it on the next reboot and load the the problem hardware again, then do a driver update on it. Mostly when I've seen this it was a bad install of the drivers and an update took care of it. Ed Fair
