Unknow File appeared in MSCONFIG Start Menu.

My friend found an unknown file in MSCONFIG, Startup tab. It is DXM6Patch_981116. The Path is: C:\WINDOWS\p_981116.exe /Q:A

Does anyone have this on their computer or know what program put it there?

You definitely don't need DXM6Patch. It is a leftover from a DirectX 6.0 upgrade. Disable it and delete the program file.

Thank you for that information, but tell me this. How do you disable it, can't it just be deleted?

You can delete it from the registry. Or disable it in MSCONFIG and I believe that will actually delete it from the registry. Terry Broadbent
