Unix sort problem

Dear All,

When I sort a file in GBK format(Chinese simplified GBK2312) on SunOS 5.9,there was an error:
sort: can't read file_name: Illegal byte sequence
I would appreciate it very much if anyone could help me with this problem and indicate how to fix it.
