My college has just merged with a larger university. They have a Win2K3 Active Directory with a single organizational unit.
I am running a NT4 domain. My PDC hardware is a Quad Pentium Pro 200 w/ 512Ram, a 4gb ntfs primary partition/ 400MB free. I can free up space. Three other local drives with the largest having only 7Gb free.
I know that I cannot make my NT4 server a member server in their 2003 AD Forest, what I want to know is with this hardware/speed; is an upgrade to Win2K Server feasible. I think it will handle it fine, but not sure.
Once in 2000 my options to join the AD are much greater.
Also, I have a P4 2.4Xeon 1.0GB Ram that I will be setting up Win2k3 Server. Once I'm in 2000 (as I understand it, although never performed this task) migrating my user information, etc. to this Win2k3 machine will not be difficult. Any links to help with that migration are appreciated.
