I was having trouble with my portable HD. When I would plug it into my computer via USB, the drive quit being recognized. It would work fine at work and on my laptop. I opened Device Manager and uninstalled the 2 copy's of USB Mass Storage. Now, no USB port works on my computer and in Device Manager, all devices that are associated with USB are saying that the drivers are installed correctly, but that the hardware isn't found? Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in Advance!

You could try this after disconnecting any USB Devices.

Use Device Manager and uninstall the USB root hubs.
Reboot and let XP rededect the USB root hubs.

Reconnect the USB devices.
