Uninstall Windows Vista

Hi

I know that maybe this forum is not the proper one for my question, but I thought that may some of XP users have been in my position.
Yes I bought a laptop with VISTA on it.No other O/S was installed. So I couldnt do a dual boot with XP
I want to remeove Windows Vista from my system( HP dv 6451v pavilion laptop. I tried many things but ...nothing...


Can someone help me?

There are many threads here on TekTips covering that...

You need to ZERO FILL the drive using a program like DBAN, Darriks Boot and Nuke...

only after that is done, can you install Windows XP...

I would suggest, that before you NUKE the Drive, to do your homework first; meaning, note every hardware piece you have in that laptop, and DL the drivers for XP before hand... especially if SATA drivers are needed...

There are also rumors floating around that HP are voiding warranties if you install XP over Vista. Check with them before you do anything.
