Hey everyone!

I am trying to uninstall virus scan 8.0i från all of our servers and reinstall virus scan 7.1 Have had nothing but problems with MS patches and 8.0 so we have decided to go back to 7.1 for a while.
the problem i am having is when ePO trys to uninstall 8.0 it can't get the uninstall command from the plugin in area?!?

see agent details:
Can't get uninstall command from plug-in area.
Loading update configuration from: Catalog.xml
Extracting catalog.z.
Verifying catalog.z.
Initializing update...
Checking update packages from repository.

has anyone had this problem before?
how do I fix this?

dave

In my experience, that error means one of two things: (1)it's already uninstalled or (2)the registry has a key missing in the network associates location. If you can verify that VS is still installed on the server, go to a client computer you know is working. Open regedit and export this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Application Plugins\VIRUSCAN8000. On the server, stop the framework service in computer management. Import that registry key. Then reinstall the agent. Once that's done you should be able to uninstall through ePo.

Hope that helps!

which key shall I copy there is about 15 of them?

I just exported that whole folder; right click on VIRUSCAN8000 and click export.
