I have a Windows 2000 server that started life with Office 2000 Pro installed. Since then, we've turned the box into an "application mode" Terminal Server. Generally, the box works great. Including Office 2000.
I now have a need to install additional Office 2000 components on the box. I've tried the ORK instructions here: to reinstall a full copy of office. Unfortunately, we're getting the error "Some default settings in Microsoft Office 2000 setup do not work properly on a Windows Terminal Server. To install Office on Terminal Server, you must use the instructions and tools available in your Office 2000 Resource Kit or at:
".
I am using a custom-built MST file as the instructions say.
I figured that the problem must be that the existing copy of Office 2000 must be uninstalled first, so I tried uninstalling it. I got the same error!
Do I need to remove Terminal Services from this box to uninstall office? If so, what will that do to my licenses? Will I need to reactivate them to reinstall Terminal Server?
Thanks anyone.
