unfinished installation

I have downloaded and partially started instalation of the IE 6 on the system. Now, when the system reboots a get the message that the Microsoft Internet Explorer*.ink file is missing and that the installation was incomplete. I do not want to finish the installation and I would really like to get rid of this alert message.

Why not uninstall IE6 and reinstall an older version? Matt Wray

because it is not installed at all! even if I go through control panel>add remove, there is no trace of IE6... Sylvano
