Is there a way to extract a photo that is embedded into a Illustrator document? I have a document that was prepared by someone with RGB Images. I need to convert them to CMYK in Photoshop and re-link.

Unembed Photos

You can convert modes right in Illustrator, but to extract, simply copy in Illustrator and Paste in PS, or export by using File>Export, then selecting a format and image size there. You may have to create crop marks to exclude unwanted artboard content.
