Hi

Does anyone know of anywhere I can find useful information on SMDR output, specifically VM channel number assignments? I am working with a call logging company trying to understand missed call entries where they are assigned to a seemingly random VM channel number. Missed calls for users/groups don't appear to always log against extension numbers as you would expect and it's not very clear where the call is missed without knowing what logic the IP Office is using when assigning VM channels etc.

Thanks

The SMDR format is detailed in the IP Office documents
of the Call logging company is serious about connecting to IP Office I would suggest they register with the Dec-Connect program for Avaya so that they can get further assistance & complete interoperability testing.

The worrying thing is I think they already have that. They sent me the below, which hasn't really resulted in me understanding how IP Office allocates its VM channel numbering or where missed calls are registered against specifically. Is the same VM Channel number always the associated with a particular mailbox/voicemail menu??

"It's more to do with how the routing affects the SMDR and the expectations of the SMDR from such routing. Whilst the routing set-up is fairly simple it's not typical. The Device number is what produces the VM Channel number in the SMDR, EXXXX for extensions or VXXXX for voicemail. Please see the example below.

Voicemail Device number V9542 handle this missed call, so when the SMDR is produced it will produce the name VM Channel 42 the last two digits of the device number, and in IP Office SMDR we have the ability to log against the name. There are a few more examples below.
