Undelete software for Win XP?

Somehow I have deleted some important files from my hardrive, I have attempted to retrieve them but have failed. I have heard that there is software that will allow you to see deleted files and restore them.
Can anyone tell me where I can get this software?

If they are system files you might try the system restore utility.

boot into safe mode go into Start, Programs, Accesories, system tools, system retore (from memory- may not be exactyl there but close!)

Then choose restore and pick a date prior to the deletion of the system files.

This could work, but wont restore lost data

But the files I am looking to restore are not system files, but a range of word files.
Does anyone else have any suggetions?

A system restore will restore all of the files before you deleted them whether they are system or not.
