2 questions. Over the weekend, someone reported to me they tried calling from outside the hospital, into an extension. They couldn't get through, the system told them it was undefined, it's a hunt group, so they decided to try the other extensions attached to it, and were told the same for every one of them, ext 111, 112 and several others were undefined.

I get the message, test it, call in with my cell, dial 111, no problems, goes right through to the station, as do all it's other extensions. This seems to be popping up randomly.

Any idea what could cause this?

And number 2, looking through all the trunks I have, I noticed one of them is assigned as what appears to be a link to my other site. I'm guessing this means I can use it to dial their extensions from this site, instead of having to dial the full number and extension.

If this is so, how would I activate/use this function?

first of all this new trunk you discovered is it in service and is it labled anything specific and is your other site a definity also. what type of trunk is it isdn, tie, ip, etc.

Yes, it's in service. It's also a tie. This is the first page of the config:

You could dial the trunk access code (82) and the extension as dial access is turned on. What happens if you dial an extension for the other building? The switches could be set up with a uniform dial plan.

Does not play well with others

alright, well dialing 82 gives another dial tone, but when i dial an extension at the other building i just get noise.

i'll have to check the other building tomorrow, see if its setup for the tie.
