I am plagued by a "uncontroleable menu opening" problem. I am running XP Professional, Outlook Express 6.0, IE 6. Many times during the day when I begin to move my mouse I lose control of its actions. It jumps around the screen opening up drop down menus and other windows until it finally closes IE and/or OE.

I once had Weatherbug installed but was told that thee was a bug in it that caused this problem. Recommended uninstalling which I did. This worked for a couple of days but the problem is back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have looked in MS KB but no assistance there. So, I am coming back to the TT experts.

Howdy,

Does it only happen when you're connected the internet or any time?

Think you should do a virus scan and spyware scan

Hope this helps

Yes, it is usually when both IE and OE are executing. It is triggered by a slight mouse movement. Then the control of the mouse is lost. Menu's start opening up all over the screen. The control panel window opens sometimes. Then usually IE and OE close down. I have found that during the process if I click one of the arrow buttons on the keyboard it stops and nothing then closes.

As for virus scans, I have done this and use Norton AntiVirus and SpyBot software. I have run both and this does not seem to fix the problem.

Any other ideas.
