Unbound Field Values

Hi - I am very new to Crystal Reports. I am using Crystal Reports in Visual Studio 2003. I have read that the unbound fields available for a report can be added to the report and then the value of the unbound field can be set from within your application. I am trying to set the value of an unbound field on a report from the VB .NET form that is loading the report. I can't find out how to code it. Can anyone help?
