Hello Folks

I've been trying to access the BIOS on a CPPM card as I'm hoping to install a CoRes system. The wierd thing is that I don't see the startup sequence. I've even powered up a VxWorks CPPM and have rebooted the processor via "pdt" as shown below.

Very odd when I reboot from "pdt"

PDT login on /tyCo/1

Username: xxxx
Password: xxxx

SEC0029 Security warning: This system contains insecure passwords, notify your s
ystem administrator
pdt> reboot -1

SRPT048 DR: Master asked to stop updates and flush file system.

(I don't see anything here, but should see the BIOS bootup events)

Has anyone else seen this?. I even put in different cables, using either port and have used a Option mini and Cabinet system. Also used different card slots, with the same problem. I've looked to see if there is any small switches on the card, but I can only see the battery.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Why don't you hard boot it and see what it does instead of using the pdt command.

Hi Dave, have you tried to make a bootable cf2 and tried getting into the tools menu? I would suspect that your CPPM card is pre bios release 13 as the release notes for bios release 13 states one of the problems cleared is to clean up screen corruption during BIOS display. The current BIOS release is 18.

Hello Hutch.

It's good to hear from you. Yes I had a bootable CF2 card with Linux software loaded on, but I just don't see a thing until it shows

I'm off to see a collague who has a spare CPPM to play with.

Just to update you all. I visited a colleague who had a number of CPPM cards in his lab and spent some time swapping parts over. We discovered that my card was faulty along with 2 other CPPM cards.

All three cards wouldn't display any startup events. We used a Black Box clever serial port cable and this showed it was missing one of the two lights that you should see, or one was just flickering.
