Hello,
I am trying to upgrade from 3.1(56) to 3.1(65) on an IP office 406v1. I only select the control unit from my laptop connected directly to the 8 port hub, UpgradeWiz prompts for the unit password, then a message for offline mode appears and I OK that. Finally UpgradeWiz goes through contacting and waiting phase before it starts transferring, and then dies randomly during the transfer. The progress bar gets about a 10th of the way across and the unit disconnects and reboots. Any suggestions? I have tried rebooting the system before trying the upgrade and disconnecting the VMPro server and any network apps running on my laptop before upgrading with no luck. Upgrading to 3.1(56) was not that hard. Do I have to load 3.0(999) again before 3.1(65)?

Thank you.

The only way I got a 406v1 to upgrade was to unplug all expansion modules and trunks, then make it go to off-line mode. From there you are able to complete the upgrade, then reconnect the expansion modules and upgrade them.

I've upgraded our 406v1 with 1xDS and 3xAnalog modules, 1x4 AT, and 1xPRI from 3.1.56 to 3.1.65 with no issues at all.

I don't see why you would need to go through the interim steps if you have already done that, but you may want to try the 3.0.999 again.
Also make sure you are using static IP's

like jml2665 has just said make sure you are using a static ip , disable any firewalls on the computer you are doing the upgrtade with, disable any VPN drivers tagged to the network device on you PC, and try connecting directly to the Unit it self

Since I have tried from a laptop connected directly using a static IP and no luck, I am going to try the disconnect everything approach Mike suggested tomorrow morning and hope it goes OK.

Thank you for the suggestions.

The system successfully upgraded by doing what Mike suggested.

Thank you for the help.

Glad to hear it worked for you.
