Unable to uninstall sp3 in add/remove programs

I want to get out of SP3 in order to install WinFaxPro10.0.3, no other reason for now. I have the How to Remove article 950249. Method #1 - There is NO remove button for SP3. METHOD #2 - Hidden $NtServicePackUninstall$ also does not exist on my PC.

I hesitate to try Method #3 or 4 for now. If I use System Restore, what do I lose in software? I do not have an install CD.

System Restore will change everything except your personal data back to the time of the restore point.

Have you made sure you are showing both Hidden and System files in Folder Options?

Was SP3 installed via a Slipstreamed ServicePack3, or how was it installed? Have you run any cleanup tools that remove the Windows Updates uninstallers?

Do you have a Recovery Partition if you don't have any XP CD?

Have you tried stopping all Startup programs, and non-Microsoft Services to see if that will get the job done?
