Unable to transfer Office XP Word files-Error path too deep

Hi,


I am unable to transfer MS Word Files from my computer, evry time I copy it to another directory I get the error-cannot copy file-path too deep. I also noticed that there are some temp word files open with the corresponding file names. These temp files don't close even when I close the document.

Please advice, I have lot of important information in those files,

If your total file path plus file name exceeds 255 characters, you will get that error. For a solution to this problem please look at MS article Q180410
