When I try to reinstall Paint Shop Pro 7.0, I get the following error "configuration data for this product is corrupt." Has any one else had the same problem and been able to resolve it?

Hi tia1777,

Did you re-install psp7? If so did you un-install psp7 prior to re-installing psp7? Was your original version a download or a disk? If it's a download, than it's possible that some files have been corrupted during the un or re-install process. If the original is on a disk and you have un-installed psp7 prior to re-installing it, I suggest you give the helpful folks at a call.

I always search the registry for artifacts and delete them after an uninstall. Then I do the same for PSP files using any of the names like JASC,PSP or anything pertaining and delete them. If they won't delete, go to safe mode and delete them there (something I learned from Symantec) and if you have a clean HD, you shouldn't have any problems reinstalling.

I have had to uninstall my psp7 because every time i go to the toggle layer pallet psp 7 crashes and closes down on me and yet i got the same version of psp 7 on my kids pc and it works great
Has any one got any ideas what is happening

My version of PSP 7 is a download; so I really cannot
uninstall then reinstall. I have one app of PSP 7 on my hard drive, and another as backup on my external drive.
I am afraid to remove it, as it is my only .exe for
PSP 7.
I have had PSP 7 since it came out and the problem I have
is a new one, never before has the "Profile" issue come up!
In fact I NEVER had a PSP 7 problem until recently.
I also have PSP 8 and 9.
ONLY PSP 7 has this problem with "PROFILE" as the default
OPEN and SAVE option! I have tried everything, from Camp Ratty's excruciating color management tutorial,to create
and "add" a PROFILE fo PSP 7 which did nothing,
to duplicating what PSP 8 has; NO COLOR MANAGEMENT,NO
PROFILE and it works great, saves to my last FOLDER,
which is in my personal ART FILES.

I see both PSP 8 and 9 have DLLs called Preferences,
and CMYK dll's - PSP 7 has a CMYK dll but no "preferences".
But I don't know what to do about this PSP 7 problem;
it will open and save to only the PROFILE folder.
So when I create ART and go to save it, there's PROFILE
folder sneering at me, and I have to "folder up" to save
in my own files.

WHAT I REALLY WANT:

A list of all the original "guts" in PSP 7 - that is,
ALL the .dll's, the .cnts, and so on that make up the
totality of the application.EVERY LITTLE THING.
I keep looking at my PSP 7 list, compare it to 8 and 9 -
and I can only conclude that a file that resolves the PROFILE issue has gone missing or is corrupt.
But I don't know what file or extension to look for!

AND NO, I won't pay the absurd price for the "anniversary"
edition of PSP 7. Why republish this with absolutely NO support and help for it?

Rant over; earnest request for HELP!
Thankings to all, I love this place.
