Unable to print from Internet Explorer

Hi,

I have this user who is trying to print a webpage from IE. However, although there is the printer icon shown on the status bar of the IE browser, the page doesn't print out. This is regardless of whether I use the print button or File->Print.

When I log on as another user (with admin rights), I am able to print from IE. So, I suspect it might be a profile problem. Thus, I tried to remove the user profile, but am unable to do so. The "delete" button is greyed out, and when I try to delete the profile folder, it prompts an error ntuser.dat in use.

Basically I just trying to print from IE. How do I solve this issue?

Can the user print other documents?
Sounds like a security issue. Check your security on the printer.

Yup, the user is able to print other documents from other programs such as Words, so, shouldn't be a security issue...
 
Hi

I had the same problem, pinting in word was ok, but not in IE5.5. I did the following: at the workstation I uninstalled the printers. Then I deleted the drivers in the system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\2 directory. I reinstalled the printers under admin credentials on another machine and tested the printing in IE5.5. Then I copied the drivers to the right directory of the problem making workstation (see above directory). Then I reinstalled the printer under user credentials. It seemed, that under user credentials the driver update did not function. I tested the different stages by printing with IE5.5

in addition to my previous post., I deleted the users profile!!
