We just got a new laser printer, (Savin CLP1620)and when we try to print financial reports to this printer, they print out as a one inch square at the top left of an 8.5x11 page. This printer is on a network. Everything else in Great Plains will print normally. Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening? We are using Dynamics 6.00g5 w/ Sequal Server 2000. We have also tried from numerous computers to elminiate the computer being the problem.

Thanks,

Amy

I hate to give this answer, but I don't believe that the printer you mention is compatible with Great Plains. There is a list out there, and while I personally don't think it's robust enough, if you want to be sure to not have printing issues, you should get a printer from that list.

In my experience almost all HP printers are fine with Great Plains, others are not always so reliable. I have seen some VERY strange printer behaviour when using unsupported printers with GP, especially when 3rd party products are involved. On the other hand, we have a Minolta color laser in the office, which is not on the list, but prints from GP just fine.

Another thing - you are using a fairly old version of Great Plains, without any service packs. I really don't know if this is contributing to the problem, but I thought I would mention it.

Thanks so much for your reply! I will definitely check out that list. Hopefully we will have it in our budget soon to upgrade G.P. Until then....

Thanks!
