I am having Windows 2003 domain. All the clients use DHCP.
In the domain, there are 2000 professional clients and MAC OS X clients. Windows clients are log in to to the domain but MACs are independent. However MAC clients are also using DHCP.Also, I can ping all the clinets using IP and name from MAC clients but vice versa is not true.

I can ping and access MAC machines by IP address BUT not through Name

Any suggestions????

are the Macs set to update dns?

I would move this over to the DNS/DHCP forum because you will get more direct expertise.

If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.

Or the Apple Mac forum.

Yes, I try to update/bind the MAc machine and that machine is showing in Active Directory computers and users.I can access that machine by its name from some 2000 pro clients but not from all. Also i still cannot ping them by name.
