unable to open some hyperlinks!

i have recently come up against a problem,i use xp and IE6 lately i have been unable to open some web page hyperlinks ,some are .gif links and some are pre-written links all i get is a small bleep from the pc.I thought it could be the fault of the xp sp1 so i uninstalled that(no joy) i also installed the sun java plugin (no joy) anyone had this same problem,it' driving me nuts.

Try reregistering these IE6 Dll's and see if that fixes the problem.

Run each of the following from start/run:

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

Enter one at a time and click OK after each entry.
