Unable to open ".email" attachments in Outlook Express

Greetings,

Outlook Express 6.0/Outlook cannot open any attachment with a ".email" file extension. I noticed that all emails forwarded by MSN users come with a ".email" extension, instead of the ".eml" extension of other mail clients. When clicking on the .email attachment the "Open with" box appears, seeking a program to associate the file with. Every program I have tried will not open the attachment correctly. For instance, if the attachment contains a photo in any format (.jpg, .gif, .bmp, etc). the photo will not appear in the selected program (notepad, wordpad, iexplore, word).

Ideally, .email attachments should open correctly with Outlook Express & Outlook. Can someone can give me the correct File Type Path (Content Type MIME) for the .email extension and perhaps I could manually configure the file association to open in Outlook Express? Other solutions are welcome!

It may be worth trying to create a new file type with the email extension and action > open OE.
