I have a user who is currently unable to:
1. Open an attachment, regardless of extension.
2. Use QuickView to open an attachment.
3. Save the attachment, regardless of extension.
4. Attach a file to a new message.
Here is the error message we get when trying to save an attachment:
"Cannot save the attachment. Can't create file: <filename>. Right-click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder."
We get similiar messages when trying to open an attacment, use Quick View, or attach a file in a new message.
This is Windows 98 using shared desktop, so profiles shouldn't be an issue. I've tried uninstall/reinstall of Outlook 2000, creating a new Outlook 2000 profile, reinstall/repair of Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2.
Originally, he was unable to create new messages too. This was corrected when I created a new profile for him to use.
thanks
