I have recently upgrade Windows Me to Windows XP SP2 over 2 weeks ago. I notice something that is quite annoying. Either with the Windows Desktop or In Windows Folder

Whenever I try to make new folder/directory, my systems freezes. I have to pull up the task manager to end the program. In the Task manager, the folder shows is Not Running. I can excute programs or document. I can move files/programs into existing folder. Also, I can not Cut programs or set of programs/documents, then paste into another folder. I can load up another program to create folders but not with Windows XP itself.

Lastly, on Windows Desktop. Whenever I try to refresh the screen. It Freezes too. I have to wait about 60 seconds to unfreeze.

A lot of your problems may result from choosing the upgrade solution rather than reformatting and performing a clean install.

Your upgrade version of XP can perform a format and clean install but you will be asked to slip in the ME CD (qualifying product) during setup to verify your use of the upgrade XP CD for a clean install.

This is the way to go rather than dragging all that excess baggage from ME into XP.
