I have a machine running SQL server 7 on NT server, the machine name was recently changed. Upon changing the machine name we are unable to log onto the SQL enterprise manager or query analyzer to administer the databse.

We re-installed SQL 7 onto the machine but now we are unable to see the database at all.

Hi, well i will try and help.
I don´t know if you have a backup of your databases?!
Best would be if you have got the *.mdf and *.ldf Files
of your Databases.
If you didn´t change the default path where SQL is installed you should find the files under c:\programfiles\microsoftsqlserver\(servername)\data

if you have got those files, you can attach those with the sp_attach_db [@DBname] 'dbname', [@filename1=] 'filename_n' procedure in the querryanalzer.
Return Codes will be 0 = success 1 = failure

hope this helps
