Hi All?
I am a programmer and have been liasing with my System Admin to try and resolve some issue Im having.
Im unable to log into my Oracle 8 database from SQLPLUS using any of the users. It just hangs, even the user SYSTEM. The all just hang when I attempt to connect.
This user SYSTEM is the one that executes some batch files that I have in UNIX at some scheduled times and has been unable to do so since 5 days ago. Im able to use SQLPLUS in other Oracle 8 databases in the same server.
My System Admin returned the following error from the database logf file, and I dont know if its related to the problem "*** 2006.01.13.10.51.53.000

*** SESSION ID:(2.1) 2006.01.13.10.51.53.000

ORA-01157: cannot identify data file 4 - file not found

ORA-01110: data file 4: '/nspp/oradata/ipmsprod/datos_ipmsprod01.dbf'

ORA-27041: unable to open file

SVR4 Error: 79: Value too large for defined data type

"

Kindly assist.

Ooops... I will aks the Admin about the datafile.
But the same users have no problem using a PowerBuilder application here that connects to the same database. Or the corrupt/deleted datafile has nothing to do with that?
