I have the same problem as this on my win2000 pro machine. This problem resulted after repairing my system file located in the config folder which had become corrupt after the failed SP4 install. This is the 3rd time a win update has corrupded my system file causing my machine to be unbootable. Now that I've fixed the system file win2000 pro begins to boot but crashes with the BSoD as follows:
Is there any way to fix this? I've also verified the file to be there, its size and date also, however it is the SP4 version.
Previous listing:
I have a laptop that displays the following error when booting up.STOP c0000135 (unable to locate DLL)
The file Winsrv.dll could not be found in the default path.
Beginning dump of physical memory.
The laptop is running NT4.0 workstation sp6. I went as far as installing the drive into another machine as a second drive to search for the file, and it was in the Winnt\sys32 directory wher it belonged. I compared the size and date of the file with the other drive that it was connected to. It was the same. I then copied the file from the master, but I get the same error when I try and boot up the drive back in the laptop.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
