After loading SP2, I could not get Win2000 to boot up, so I wiped my drive and re-installed Win2000 successfully. Everything worked fine until I loaded SP2 again. This time I kept getting a "unable to load device driver mrxsmb.sys" error. I promptly uninstalled SP2 and everything is once again running correctly. Can anyone provide me some insight on the problem?

I'm running an Athlon 800MHz with 256M ram.

Not too much info. except that it has to deal with Master Browser and memory allocation. or info found at

Windows 2000 - Microsoft says you may have a problem uninstalling Microsoft Systems Management Server 2.0 from Windows 2000 Server, Advanced Server, and Datacenter Server. You may end up with a Blue Screen of Death and this error message: "STOP 0x000000cb: DRIVER_LEFT_LOCKED_PAGES_IN_PROCESS." Microsoft is testing a fix that will be in the next service pack. If you need the fix earlier, you should contact Microsoft Technical Support and ask for 02/10/00 09:03p 368,528 Mrxsmb.sys 02/10/00 09:53p 50,402 Sp1.cat
