Unable to install programs from DVD-ROM 2

Each time I try to install a program from a DVD-ROM i get the message "Not a valid win32 application" or "Access to the specified device, path or file is denied".

The discs work fine on another PC (with XP home). The programs state they are compatible with Win 2000 SP4 which I have. Programs distributed on CD format work fine in the same drive. I thought of drivers but the discs don't work in either of my DVD drives - I have a writer and a player.

Google searching suggests corrupt files but this can't be the case here. Any ideas?

DVD drives are NEC-DV5700A (DVD-ROM) and Lite-On SOHW1693S (DVD-RW)
Processor Amd 64 3000
1GB RAM
140GB Hard drive mem left
GeForce 6600GT graph card

Ok the reason they work on one computer and not another is the file system. When it says not a valid win32 application it means the file system on the computer you are trying to install it on is not fat32 but ntfs. The computers it works on are still using the fat32 file system. That is why your getting this error.

did you try and copy it to hdd first bevor running setup?

Well I looked it up, What I had posted I thought was right but as I just looked it up and verified you are right Lemon. Thank you for pointing out my mistake. I had posted that for thats what I honestly thought caused the error but I see now its not lol.

Thanks for that Lemon13 - the programs do run when i put it all on the hard drive.

Any idea why it wouldn't work on the DVD??!!
