Unable to initialize robot (error 204)

Hi Guys,

I installed NBU 5.1 with MP3a on my Windows 2003 standard server. I also have attached IBM 4560SLX Tape Library attached with 1 tape drive. From my device manager I can see the tape library (Changer) and the drive. I am using Veritas driver for the drive.

From NBU, I have configured the storage device. On configuring volumes or on initializing the robot, I receive the error "Unable to initialize robot error 204"

Guys, what could be the problem?

I am using evaluation license. AT least I have the license to use the robot

This error occurs when you have restrated your robot. what you need to do is shut down the tape library then shut down the media server. Wait for some time then start the Robot (media library), and then the media server. it should detect the media library.
