Unable to get HP 960c (deskjet) to respond.

Finally moved from dot matrix to inkjet. Code (e.g.) CHR(27)+"(16.66h".... to change to condensed doesn't respond. Any thoughts? Was using an Epson and able to shift to condensed, elite, normal; want to do the same. No codes in my manual, codes are for an HP laser jet, but expect them to be the same.

Tried with an original Laserjet already? Thes printers, including inkjets, are page-printers, they start to produce paper only after receiving a formfeed or reset (chr(27)+'@')
Could also try to close the 'printerport'file, fclose(5), but then you still may not have sent some kind of page-advance command.

Thanks for the response... After reviewing the manual again and the "Printer Assistant" file, I may be able to accomplish my goal.... that is to print on 3X5, 4X6 and 5X8 inch card stock by properly loading the printer.... Again many thanks...
