Hi guys,

Nothing seems to have changed on the system but all of a sudden we can't forward to an external number? It comes up in the IP Office app with a red exclamation mark saying "Forwarding to external numbers is not allowed" however we have been using it for the past two years with no problem!?

I am sure I haven't changed any settings for over a month so can't imagine its that.

Any ideas?

Thanks guys

I am really sorry however I got the program wrong I meant Phone Manager not IP Office. It comes up in the Phone Manager app with a red exclamation mark saying "Forwarding to external numbers is not allowed"

Sorry!

are you dialing back a number that called you or straight dialing with a "9" then number?

Check in the manager -

User Rights - Telephony - Supervisor Settings - Enable outgoing call bar

or

User - Telephony - Supervisor Settings - Enable outgoing call bar

Outgoing Call Bar: Default = Off
When enabled, this setting stops a user from making any external calls except those that use dial emergency features. On many Avaya display phones, this causes a B to be displayed.

Close Tom
user\telephony\supervisor settings

Inhibit Off-Switch Forward/Transfers: Default = Off, Software level = 3.2+.
When enabled, this setting stops the user from transferring or forwarding calls externally. This does not stop another user transferring the restricted users calls off-switch on their behalf. Note that a number of other controls may inhibit the transfer operation, see Off-Switch Transfer Restriction.

DOH - thank you!!! and its part of user rights also. Thanks again for the lesson :)

Hi cargoski,

Are we talking on Phone Manager or the IP Office phone system interface because I can't find the Supervisor Setting.

I have got User and then Telephony but no more.

Thanks!

We are talking Manager application. What version of IPO do you have? If you look at my post above you will see that user feature was implemented in 3.2. What I described on where to find it is 4.0 and above but you are in the right neighborhood if you are using 3.2. User/telephony

Ok, thats not it, there is the option of Outgoing Call Bar, but its not ticked.

Can't see the version number remotely but it is like version 3.2.

Any other ideas?

Hi guys,

Its sorted, I plugged a phone into a port which was designated as No User.

This seems to have messed things up big time.

Thanks all for your help.

Plugging a phone into a extension that has no user association caused PM to have the error "Forwarding to external numbers is not allowed"?

You sure about that?
