I have a mailbox - that has the customary Red X through it - when attempting to Purge the mailbox I receive an error:
"This operation cannot be performed because this mailbox
was already connected to an existing user

There is is a User Account of the same name with a "live" mailbox - this user account is a re-created account - so therefore should have a different SID. From AD Users (Advanced Features on) have run Exchange Tasks and removed all Exchange attributes from the user account - but still cannot purge the RED Crossed Mailbox - same error message.
How do I tell which account is associated with the "redundant" mailbox and / or how do I delete (purge) it?
